Ways to train with me

From Learning by Exposure to Intensive Training

My private client's wishes and needs differ widely - they can range from just using their English and steadily getting better at expressing themselves to having very concrete events to prepare for, such as a negotiation held in English, or a test.

So, depending on your learning style, your needs and your preferences, there are several options to choose from - each of which will then, of course, be adapted and tailored to you!

Casual

Your investment:

€ 60,- for 60 minutes

What you get:

  • 60 minutes face to face session
  • verbal feedback

Is "Konversationsstunde" still something you say in German?

This is the most basic way of having an english session. We will meet, either in person or online, and have conversations about topics that interest you, or that are relevant for your area of language development.

You will of course receive feedback, in this case directly during the session.

Focused

Your investment:

€ 90,- for 60 minutes

What you get:

The next possible upgrade is to get your feedback additionaly in the form of a Language Feedback Sheet or electronically as a Quizlet that you can then learn with.

So in addition to an hour long 1:1 session, you also get 30 minutes of language feedback creation that happens behind the scenes.

Committed

Your investment:

€ 120,- for 60 minutes

What you get:

In the most intensive form of working on your English language development, you will also get individually designed homework,  specifically pertinent to your last session, and of course get feedback on that homework.

Your next steps

How does it work?

If you decide - or ponder - to work with me on your English, here is what to do:

1. Call or Write

You can either pop me a short email and I'll call you back, or pick up the phone and call me directly.

2. Tell me your needs

You tell me what you need or want to achieve and we set up a first meeting, either in person or online.

3. First Meeting

At the first meeting, we devise a plan to help you reach your goal, decide on a schedule, and set up future sessions.

Your needs

You may want to consider the following questions:

  • How intensely do you want to work on your English (and how much time can you invest)?
  • Do you have a specific event to prepare for?
  • What is your style of learning - for instance, do you learn better visually, or by listening?
  • Do you like all language mistakes to be highlighted immediately or only those that impact your meaning?
  • What is your preferred level of intensity (see options above)?

All these preferences will help direct the design of your learning journey.

Choice of venue

For in-person meetings you can choose where they should take place: In a café, at your home, in the park or even, like in the case of one longstanding client, at a casino.

We can meet:

  • in person
  • online
  • or switch between these

How often, how long

Our sessions can be held at any interval that makes sense for you and your needs.

Once a week for one hour is the best use of your time, and gives you time to integrate new information, and do homework if you chose, while not slipping into forgetting anything.

However, if you have a deadline, or depending on your schedule, we can meet more or less often.

As to "How long will it take?" - that depends on your goal.
